Entrance and Accessibility

Once you arrive, you are welcome to enter up the front steps to the Narthex, through the door down the long sidewalk, or through the accessible Scott Ave door. There is an accessible restroom in the longwalk entry by Truesdale Hall. The elevator is in the back of Truesdale or just inside the Scott Ave door.

Getting to Church in the Summer

Gate Passes: During the annual Summer Assembly Season, anyone coming onto the grounds of Chautauqua needs a gate pass. Sunday gate passes (and passes for all worship events) are free for everyone, always.

Plan to arrive 15–20 minutes early on your first summer week so that you can stop by the main gate ticket office and receive your pass. Tell them you need a Hurlbut pass for the summer, and give them your name. New gate staff may not be fully familiar with the Hurlbut passes, so be patient.

Parking: You are welcome to park across the road from the main gate of the Chautauqua Institution. Parking is free on Sunday mornings. There are also a limited number of spots available near the building if you need to walk less. Your Hurlbut pass should let you use these closer spots.
