Summer Meal Ministry

Every summer, Hurlbut offers affordable meals and a welcoming dining room to anyone on the Chautauqua grounds. You can find us in Truesdale Hall, down the path to the left of the main Sanctuary entrance.

Where Your Money Goes

All of the proceeds from the summer meal ministry go toward our many missions and ministries. Much of the money goes toward what United Methodists call “apportionments” or “shared ministries”—funds that our congregation sends to the international denomination to help fund important organisations like the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), one of the first organisations on the ground in many wars and natural disasters.

You can see some of the many missions we support with our meal ministry, either directly or through our denominational connection on our Service page.
