I pray that this letter finds your family and you in good health. Two weeks ago, I made the decision to cancel any in-person worship services and small gatherings for two weeks due to growing concerns regarding COVID-19. Today, I am writing to inform you all that all in-person worship services and small groups are canceled until further notice.
This is a difficult decision especially since we are about to enter into Holy Week and the season of Easter. This decision is only made lighter knowing that we do not live or celebrate our faith on one day of the year, but that our faith is made stronger day by day, moment by moment as we see and experience glimpses of the resurrection in our lives.
Wendy and I will continue to meet (and responsibly social distant ourselves from one another) in order to lead worship.
I would also like to invite you all to a coffee hour at home on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at 9:30am. This will be a way for you to connect with one another from the safety of your home through the use of a meeting platform called Zoom. I will send more information about this event in future Tuesday e-mails and post an event on the Hurlbut Memorial Community United Methodist Church Facebook page.
Please know that my prayers are with you all, and as we continue to live into our new reality, I am here for you. I am available by phone or text at (716)946-2269. In addition, I can be reached by email at email@example.com or on Facebook Messenger.
Lenten Blessings, Pastor Carmen
